PRESS RELEASE

PRESTON ON WYE LADIES GROUP RAISED CASH FOR HEARTSTART

A group of ladies from Preston on Wye held a coffee morning and raised £163 for Herefordshire Heartstart.  The group were so pleased to have received free Heartstart training and were keen to help the charity by raising money to help cover costs.  18 ladies from the group received two hour Heartstart How to save a life training.

People in the area are now looking to raise money to purchase a defibrillator to benefit their local community.  (Defibrillators save lives and anyone can use them, though training is available through the ambulance service for community public access defibrillators).

Herefordshire Heartstart is a registered charity (no 1082309) established in 1996 and is affiliated to the British Heart Foundation to run free two hour How to save a life courses. These courses are available to anyone, to teach them the necessary skills to keep someone alive until the emergency services arrive.

This includes dealing with choking, serious bleeding, heart attack, unconsciousness and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).

Loraine Coleman Co-ordinator/Project Manager “we are extremely grateful to the group, as every donation is important to us and helps to replace manikin lungs, wipes, course paperwork and travel expenses of volunteers needed for every course”.

To book a course for your group or to book onto a public course, email info@herefordshireheartstart.org or Contact the Co-ordinator/Project Manager Loraine Coleman on 0845 60 60 654 Mon to Thurs 9am to 12.45pm
