Herefordshire Heartstart recently held a public course at the Richmond Place Club in Hereford to coincide with Restart a Heart Day.

13 people attended the course and learnt the skills to potentially save a life, including dealing with a conscious casualty, an unconscious casualty, choking, serious bleeding, heart attack and CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation).

This was part of training sessions initiated by the British Heart Foundation to take place on the same day. Training was going on across the country and was run by various groups. Courses took place in schools, community groups and businesses.

In total an incredible 150,000 people were trained across four continents!

13 might not sound like a big number, but this was part of a bigger picture of training people in emergency life support skills.

Thank you to the Richmond Place Club, who kindly allowed us to use the skittle alley to deliver this course, so that we could take part in this event.

We rely on free venues across Herefordshire to deliver the two hour courses. All we need is space, so if you have a suitable room that we can use to deliver these skills to people in your community please get in touch. We use school halls, business training rooms, pubs, community hall, churches and village halls etc.
