MONKMOOR MOTORS SUPPORTS HEARTSTART
Loraine Coleman, Co-ordinator/Project Manager for Herefordshire Heartstart would like to thank local businessman Mr Mike Compton, owner of Monkmoor Motors, Monkmoor Street, HEREFORD, HR1 2DX for his generous donation of £200 towards fundraising done by volunteer Nicola Stock on behalf of Herefordshire Heartstart.
Mr Compton’s donation means that more people can continue to receive Heartstart how to save a life training in Herefordshire.
His donation was made towards the fundraising efforts of volunteer Nicola Stock, who undertook a gruelling 350km cycle challenge across Tanzania. Herefordshire Heartstart are extremely grateful for his support.
The charity relies on donations and small grants to keep the service running. Any business who would like to sponsor the charity should contact the Co-ordinator for details of how they can help.
We trained over 1,000 in the community last year which is quite remarkable as we use volunteer instructors to deliver the courses. The numbers trained have steadily been increasing across Herefordshire, since Co-ordinator Loraine Coleman joined in February 2011. Every donation is hugely beneficial and helps to keep this vital service running.
Anyone can attend a free two hour Heartstart course, or can book a course for their group, business or school.
At a two hour course you will learn rescue breaths and chest compressions (CPR), as well as dealing with an unconscious casualty, choking, serious bleeding and heart attack. These are simple skills that can and do save lives.
