Herefordshire Heartstart would like to thank the organisers and volunteers of the Bromyard Speed Festival for the £200 donation raised at the first festival held this year.
The donation was made at a ‘Thank You’ celebration held recently for the army of volunteers and supporters who were involved in the event.
Donations were made to various charitable organisation and the £200 cheque donation was presented to a Herefordshire Heartstart volunteer instructor Mr Dave Landey. Mr Landey was attending the celebration as a volunteer of the Speed Festival and was both surprised and delighted to receive the cheque on behalf of the charity.
The inaugural Bromyard Speed Festival took place on April 3rd 2016. Bromyard was the birthplace of the Morgan Motoring Company. As many as 5000 spectators watched over 140 classic cars and motorcycles drive around Bromyard town centre through the day.

“Donations are essential and help to cover the ongoing costs of running the courses, eg projection equipment, course paperwork, manikins replacements, lungs, wipes, volunteer mileage, phone line/calls, broadband etc.”

Herefordshire Heartstart runs free Heartstart how to save a life courses and offers these to the public, groups, voluntary organisations, businesses and schools across Herefordshire.
The two hour courses teaches members of the public essential skills to keep someone alive until the emergency services arrive. The course teaches how to deal with an unconscious casualty, heart attack, serious bleeding, choking and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
