NEW PROJECTION EQUIPMENT FOR HEARTSTART,
COURTESY OF CARGILL
Written by Loraine Coleman, Herefordshire Heartstart
Herefordshire Heartstart was delighted to receive a grant for £687 from Cargill to purchase two new sets of projectors, DVD players, speakers and cables.
This will enable two new volunteer instructors to use the excellent British Heart Foundation training DVD Skills for Life specifically used for teaching emergency life support skills. This forms part of the British Heart Foundation Heartstart lesson plan to deliver How to save a life courses to members of the public.
In just two hours members of the public can learn what to do in a life threatening emergency. They will be taught how to: help someone who is unconscious, deal with choking, serious bleeding, heart attack and how to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
Courses are run by trained volunteers. Heartstart courses are FREE and courses are run all over Herefordshire during the day or evening. Courses are offered to individuals, groups, organisations, businesses and schools.
