Herefordshire Heartstart recently awarded their 25,000
certificate on a Heartstart course in Leominster in May. Leominster Library
kindly hosted the Heartstart course in their community room. The Heartstart was
attended by a small number of local people who learned the skills that could
help to save a life. The skills taught included: how to deal with an
unconscious, breathing casualty; how to deal with an unconscious, non-breathing
casualty; signs and symptoms of a heart attack; what to do if someone is choking;
dealing with severe bleeding.
Our 25,000 certificate went to Jan Lockett, a Leominster
resident. She herself has been the recipient of a heart transplant and has had
her life saved by CPR on many occasions. Jan herself told us ‘I just feel
everyone should be taught CPR’.
If you are interested in attending a Heartstart course or
